On Wednesday 5th March 2008 the Media School held its second PhD Researcher Day. The first event in May saw 12 students presenting their work in progress to an audience of peers, academics and the interested at an open event. An innovative research project examining how journalists are trained to cover other people's distress. Not all journalists work in war zones, or do in-depth reporting on the lives of drug addicts, but most will at some stage of their career face emotionally difficult assignments. Emotions and journalism culminated in a national conference on 10th January 2008 to discuss the issues explored in the project. Find the flyer for the event here. |
