CIM are the world's largest organisation for professional marketers. We have several courses which are accredited by the CIM; this shows your future employer you have studied an industry-proven and international recognised course.
If your degree has this accreditation it also means you will gain exemptions from entry level qualifications of the CIM Professional Marketing Qualifications once you graduate from BU.

The CIM also deliver a Chartered Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) through Bournemouth University, which is the final stage of professional qualifications leading to full membership of the CIM. This is the most advanced qualification the CIM offer.

CIPR is the largest public relations institute in Europe with over 9000 members from all sectors of the industry. The institute is dedicated to raising standards within the industry. Support and advice is freely available to all members as well as there being specialist and regional support to provide opportunities for members to meet and exchange views and ideas.
For a degree to be approved by the CIPR it has to be taken through a stringent process to ensure they have excellent academic content as well as providing appropriate levels of on-hand experience and practice suited to the needs of the industry.
By studying these degrees at Bournemouth University you are also eligible to join the CIPR as Student Members. This gives you access to the member area of the CIPR website, where they have a dedicated student area which offers help and advice on getting into the PR industry.
As well as many other benefits, there is a work placement finder, which is an invaluable tool to in helping you get either a placement for your 40 week placement or just a shorter holiday placement. All of which will look great on your CV when you start applying for that first graduate job in the industry.

Once you have graduated from BU, the CIPR offer you the opportunity to upgrade to Associate Membership (ACIPR) at a discounted rate. If you also have three or more years' experience in PR you are also eligible to upgrade to full membership (MCIPR).
